In The Press

Two weeks after launching our site, back in the middle of May 1996, Sam Vincent Meddis, the Technology Editor of USAToday found us and featured our new website as one of his "Hot Sites of the Day" on June 3, 1996. This unexpected publicity moved our new home, kitchen & garden furnishings retail site into the limelight and began a long series of features on t.v., articles in newspapers and magazines as well as articles in ezines devoted to cooking or interior decorating.

Each of our various online specialty stores in Widerview Village have received attention from the worldwide community in their own right. The Lost Moose Mercantile gained favor with the British producers of the children's computer show on the BBC called "The Lowdown", Christopher Lowell asked us if he could feature some of our unique home accents in redecorated rooms showcased on "The Christopher Lowell Show" on the Discovery Channel (we said YES!), while the high style kitsch mix in UrbanScapes was featured in the always fun, always trendy t.v. show on CBS called "The Wild, Wild Web" in their "Green Couch" feature. Gourmet Gallery was also featured on ZDNet's cable t.v. show, during the holidays much to the surprise of every one here (no one told us we were going to be on their show! We only found out late one night while one of our exhausted Christmas employees caught a late night snack before turning in, and voila...there we were on her t.v. screen in living color!)

Newspapers that have featured our site & our eclectic mix of products have been: The Wall Street Journal "home" section, the "Clickit" feature in The Washington Post, two articles in the home section of the New York Times, The San Francisco Chronicle featured some of our kitsch lamps, one article in the Home section of the New York Times featured the antler chandeliers and sconces purchased from our online shop "The Lost Moose Mercantile" for Nicholas Cage's new home by his decorator Lisa Pallidino who was interviewed by Timothy Jack Ward of The New York Times House & Home Style Department, for the article about our shopping site (this same article went into syndication and appeared many, many times throughout the next year in various papers around the U.S.)

Magazines & books on the newstands: "Webmagazine" gave us their editor's award, "American Home Style" magazine featured our Italian espresso machine, Time inc.'s "Time Digital Magazine" listed us as one of the best shopping sites for home & garden furnishings. We were also featured in: Ziff Davis "Online Shopping Guide", "This Old House" magazine, "Men's Health" magazine, the "Washingtonian" magazine, the new "Cooks Tools" book by Burt Wolf, "Website Compass" Magazine, "W" Women's Wear Magazine, the "Internet Cool Guide: Shopping" book, "Family Circle" magazine, "Dwell" magazine, "Martha Sewart Living" (Spring 2005 issue featured one of our now discontinued Lamb Cake Molds) and the "Britannica Internet Guide".

And recently, Yahoo.com listed our online dream kitchenware shop, "Gourmet Gallery" in their "most popular" sites section at the top of their list of Cookware Retailers!
