Trunk Style English Picnic Baskets The Trunk Style Basket are very stylish with wide leather straps and 2 handles. The basket contains the beautiful Hooker's Fruit plates & mugs designed by William Hooker for the Royal Horticultural Society. In 1815, the Society, as part of a program of standardizing the nomenclature of fruit varieties, began commissioning portraits of fruits. The portraits show specimens of branch, foliage, flowers, and a cross-section of fruit. This plate design is already a proven seller. Basket handles are covered in high quality leather and securely fixed by brass rivets. Lifetime hinges will not break with age, as they are made of a covered metal hinge with a leather strap supplied with all fitted baskets. Table linen supplied is 100% machine washable cotton. Included are: Ceramic 8 inch plates & mugs, flatware set, tough glass tumblers, corkscrew, salt & pepper shakers and cotton napkins.
